Arvind Kejriwal promises unemployment allowance, job quota for locals in Uttarakhand

This was Kejriwal's third visit to the state as few months are left in the next assembly elections.

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday promised jobs for all in Uttarakhand and said that if his party forms the next government in the state, a new ministry will be made to take care of the employment and migration affairs. He also vowed a monthly allowance of Rs 5,000 to the unemployed from each family until they get a job.

Delhi Chief Minister Kejriwal was on a day-long visit to Haldwani in Nainital. He announced that the party will launch a scheme named "Har Ghar Rozgar" and under that scheme will provide 100,000 government jobs within six months of being elected to office. He added that of these jobs, 80 per cent will be reserved for the ones who have domicile of Uttarakhand.

Taking a dig at the ruling party BJP, he said that if the government has "will power," it will provide free electricity, just like they have done in the national capital. He also said that other party members who want to join AAP are welcome in the party. This was Kejriwal's third visit to the state as few months are left in the next assembly elections.
