Arvind Kejriwal will be in Gujarat's Ahmedabad today (November 4) where he will announce the party's chief ministerial candidate for the upcoming assembly election. 

 

As per the information, Top party sources said that Isudan Gadhvi or Gopal Italia will likely become AAP's chief ministerial face.

 

Assembly polls in Gujarat will be held in two phases -- the first on December 1 followed by the second phase of polling on December 5.

 

The Gujarat assembly election will find a new contender in AAP and the race to form the government will be between AAP, BJP and Congress.

 

Gopal Italia comes from the Patidar community and he was involved in the Patidar andolan as well. Meanwhile, Isudan Gadhvi is a former journalist and has a huge fan following.

 

AAP started its election campaign in June by announcing several guarantees, holding yatras and door-to-door campaigns. The party is giving a tough fight to BJP and Congress in terms of creating buzz and campaigning.

 

There are a total of 182 assembly seats in Gujarat and 92 seats are required to form the government.

 

The Election Commission of India announced on Thursday that the Gujarat elections will be held in two phases – December 1 and 5 – and counting of votes will be held on December 8. A total of 89 assembly constituencies (ACs) will go for polls in the first phase and 93 ACs in the second phase.
