Assam Rs 15 crore Drug Bust!

Police recovered 383 grams of heroin in Assam...


The Assam police recovered a massive quantity of narcotic drugs worth a total of Rs 15 crore on Tuesday. The drug bust happened in Assam’s Karbi Anglong district. Three drug peddlers were detained on the scene by a team of police and CRPF. 

 

The police team and CRPF were tipped off regarding the transportation of narcotic drugs. After which a joint team of police and CRPF set up a Naka checking at Dilai Tinali under Dilai police station in Karbi Anglong district on Tuesday.

 

The joint team intercepted a Bolero on the scene bearing registration number SK-03P-1143 at the checking point. The vehicle after being intercepted was thoroughly checked and huge amounts of narcotic drugs were recovered, informed John Das sub-divisional police officer (SDPO) of Bokajan. 

 

John Das also added that “It is one of the purest forms of heroin and famous in Golden Triangle. It was hidden inside the glove box of the vehicle. We have also recovered one kg of Morphine hidden in the gear box, two kg of Crystal Meth and Syabu hidden in the gear box.

 

The market value of the seized drugs is estimated at around ? 15 crore". The police officials also informed that the tea, had recovered 383 grams of heroin marked as ‘double UO Globe’ and the words “100 per cent pure” in Chinese characters.

 

The police and the CRPF joint team apprehended the accused peddlers and identified them as Rajesh Lakandri (37) and kumar Gajimer (38) and Tangambou Marianmai (48). They all hail from Manipur.
