3 arrest for attacking the police in Chennai
The sub inspector Shankar was attacked by the group of three men who came in two wheeler and assaulted him with an iron rod while he was on his vehicle inspection duty on 20 February 2023.
The main accused of the incident were arrested by the police who were identified as Gautam who was driving the vehicle during the incident and Surya and Ajith who was riding with him. They were identified by the CCTV Camera installed at the incident.
According to the police the head constable Amanudin of Ayanavaram, the accused Surya try to escape from police and hide in his sister's house but caught by inspector Meena who shot on Surya knee while he try to run away.
However the accused was admitted to the kilpakkam government hospital and undergoing treatment. Apart from the accused the two constables were also admitted to the same hospital as they were attack during the arrest.
The accused of the incident were logged under section 3 of Indian penal code (IPC), including an attempt of murder.
Further investigation revealed that the accused Surya have 14 other pending case.
