Author Taslima Nasreen Says Not treated well at Delhi Hospital

Taslima Nasreen has accused a Delhi based private hospital for wrong treatment and forcing her to do hip replacement surgery which was not she says was not needed at all. The exiled Bangladeshi writer took to twitter to share her experience with Apollo Hospital and one of its doctors, Dr Yatinder Kharbanda.

 

According to Nareen she had fallen down once which caused pain on her knees to which Dr. Yatinder said that she has hip fracture and needs to a hip transplant surgery. Nasreen even mentioned that she was not shown any X-ray/ CT scan. “I was admitted for fixation on Jan13 late night,but on Jan14 morning he forced me to do total hip replacement.Later found no hip fracture &a false discharge summery was made,” she has tweeted.

 

“I was not given any time to think, to consult with friends & family, to get 2nd opinion. I was alone.Dr Kharbanda created panic,said he would do nothing but Total Hip Replacement & OT is ready. So hurry. He did that without any indication. It is definitely a malpractice.”

 

Nasreen claims that a total of Rs 7, 42,845 was charged by the hospital for the treatment.  The hospital has however denied all allegations and said that she was asked to come for consultations with her relative or friends. They also said that Nasreen was asked to follow physiotherapy session regularly but it was not being followed properly. The doctors have still asked her to come to her sessions regularly so that she can start walking soon.
