Auto driver murdered by wife and her bf

Urmila fed with the harsh treatment from her husband gets him killed by her boyfriend, Sajim Khan


On Wednesday, the police arrested two accused for murder. A 62-year-old Raj Kumar was killed by his wife Urmila and her 28-year-old boyfriend, Sajim Khan. On November 2, the incident took place in a secluded place near Mangolpuri Industrial area phase- I. The victim was an auto-rickshaw driver and was married to Urmila against her wishes when she was in her twenties. She was not happy with her marriage and was regularly beaten and tortured by her husband. She was fed up with the harsh treatment, she said. And they had four children.

 

As planned, on the day of the incident Urmila met with Sajim Khan and later Sajim boarded Kumar’s rickshaw as passenger to go to Mangolpuri Industrial area phase I and then asked him to halt at a secluded place. With a country pistol he fired at Kumar’s back. Urmila and her boyfriend conspired this murder for she no longer wanted to live with her husband and wanted to marry Sajim, who is a hawker dealing in scrape in Karol Bagh area. As per the plan, Khan kept an eye on Kumar’s movements for several weeks and found out that he comes to Karol Bagh in the evening everyday to get his last passenger. After murdering Kumar, Khan left for Malkaganj where he stayed in a rented room and then fled Delhi.

 

On November 2, the body was found by the police team said the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Outer, Parvinder Singh. The wallet, money, phone everything was untouched. He said the victim had one gunshot injury and there were no eye witnesses. Many CCTV cameras were scanned for all the possible routes from Karol Bagh to Mangolpuri Industrial Area Phase-I and the suspect, Khan who hails from Amroha in Uttar Pradesh was identified.

 

"Khan was found to be in regular touch with the victim's wife and further investigation revealed that Khan was in a relationship with Urmila for past many years and due to him, there was regular quarrel between Urmila and her husband," Mr Singh said. Khan’s native place in Amroha district was raided but nothing was found. Later, he was traced and arrested from Muradabad, Uttar Pradesh. "During questioning, Khan confessed to his crime and disclosed that he met the victim's wife in 2015 and they eventually got into a relationship. Over the past few months, she had been continuously complaining about her husband's behaviour. So, he planned to eliminate him and marry Urmila," the DCP said.
