Banned Chinese Manja Claims Four Lives in Gujarat

One Fatality Each in Mumbai and Madhya Pradesh

Flying kites during Makar Sankranti took a tragic turn in the last 24 hours, with authorities reporting four casualties in Gujarat, one in Mumbai, and a boy in Madhya Pradesh.

The victims, all on bikes, fell prey to the banned strings known as Chinese manja. The incidents highlight the dangers associated with this traditional activity.

Discarded kite manja caused numerous injuries, including a farmer in Maharashtra's Nashik district who required 150 stitches to close a deep cut in his neck.

Biker Lashkar Chauhan (48) tragically lost his life on Sunday in Bhavnagar, Gujarat, as a kite string slashed his throat.
