Bharat Jodo Yatra Enters UP

Former J&K CM Farooq Abdullah joined Yatra…

On Wednesday morning, 04 January 2023, the Rahul Gandhi-led Bharat Jodo Yatra resumed from Uttar Pradesh’s Mavikala village.

The Yatra began following a fire-works display at the village in the early hours. The Yatra entered Uttar Pradesh Tuesday afternoon, now it will pass through Niwara, Saroorpoor, and Baraut and will halt for the day in Ailum.

Rahul Gandhi will walk through Uttar Pradesh for the next two days. His Yatra will re-enter Haryana on January 6, after which it is likely to be in Punjab from January 11 to 20, with a day in Himachal Pradesh on January 19.

According to senior party leaders, the Yatra will arrive at Jammu and Kashmir’s Kathua district on January 20 and finally conclude in Srinagar on January 30.

On entering UP, the Yatra was welcomed by Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and was soon joined by former CM of Jammu and Kashmir Farooq Abdullah.

At a public meeting organised in Loni, Priyanka Gandhi hailed brother Rahul for everything from walking 3,000 km to “withstanding cold in a T-shirt” to “not being bought by any Ambani and Adani” group.

The Yatra also saw the participation of Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Priyanka Chaturvedi and former Research and Analysis Wing (R&AW) chief A S Dulat on Tuesday.

Speaking to The Indian Express, Dulat said walking in the Yatra was a fabulous experience, “fantastic” and an “exceptional” exercise.
