BJP Party Worker Killed At A Rally In Siliguri

Police allegedly killed a BJP worker in Siliguri West Bengal.


On Monday afternoon BJP workers and the police in West Bengal’s Siliguri allegedly clashed when the party’s supporters were not allowed to take out a protest march and one of the supporters got killed by the police during the clash.

Ulen Roy succumbed to death after he was beaten by the police. The administration said that he was never hit by the police. However the officials are waiting for the autopsy report before releasing a statement.

The ‘Uttrakanya’ rally in Siliguri that was marching towards north Bengal secretariat in order to protest against the misrulings done by the TMC led government in the state. As the BJP workers crossed the barricades that were laid to stop the rally the clash between the protesting group and police erupted. At NH-31 after the protestors crossed the primarily laid barricades the police used tear gas and water cannons to disperse the crowd. In retaliation the protestors pelted stones and bricks at the police and also set the trenches on fire.

Tejaswi Surya the Lok Sabha MP had arrived at Siliguri for the rally and the 7 MP’s of the BJP of North Bengal also marked their presence at the rally. The BJP state chief Dilip Ghosh and MP Soumotra Khan were also a part of the protest.

The BJP leaders Vijayvargiya and Surya had to be taken into their private cars under the security of their personal guards and the Governor of the state Jagdeep Dhankhar was informed about the incident.
