Body of Woman found in Suitcase

Near Mumbai Metro Construction Site

Police in Mumbai discovered a woman's body inside a suitcase near a metro railway construction site, following a report of a suspicious suitcase near a barricade along CST road in Shanti Nagar.

The police were alerted around 12:30 pm about an abandoned suitcase on CST Road at Shanti Nagar, amid ongoing work for a Metro project, leading to the subsequent discovery, as quoted by an official.

Upon reaching the location, the police discovered a woman's body inside the suitcase, as confirmed by the official. Subsequently, the body was transported to a civic hospital for autopsy.

The woman's identity remains unknown, and preliminary reports indicate an estimated age between 25 and 35 years. However, concrete details are pending confirmation through forensic examination.

Law enforcement is carefully examining CCTV footage from the surrounding area in search of a crucial lead in the case.

A case has been filed under Section 302 (murder) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) against an unidentified perpetrator. The investigation is currently in progress.
