British PM Boris Johnson has decided to shorten his upcoming tour of India in view of the fast-growing cases of corona infection in India. Johnson is scheduled to visit India on April 26. His spokesman gave this information on Wednesday.

UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson has decided to shorten his visit to India this month. This decision has been taken in view of the situation of coronavirus infection in India. The British PM's spokesperson said on Wednesday that Boris Johnson will meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his visit to India. The spokesperson told reporters that the decision to shorten the PM's visit has been taken after discussions with the Indian government.

The British Prime Minister's spokesperson said, "High-level discussions with the Government of India and Indian business leaders will remain in focus during the tour." He said that now on April 26, most of the programs will be held. Johnson had earlier indicated that he would like to go to Mumbai, Pune, Bangalore, and Chennai in addition to New Delhi but they are forced to re-schedule and shorten their tour after Corona's second furious wave.

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson was scheduled to visit India in January. He was invited as the chief guest at the Republic Day celebrations on January 26 but then the tour had to be cancelled in view of growing cases of corona in the UK. The UK will host the G-7 summit in June this year for which a special invitation has been sent to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
