British Withdrew Farm Laws Too Says Opposition In RS

Farm laws by the British rulers were also withdrawn said opposition in RS


Prime Minister Narendra Modi today at the Rajya Sabha was urged by a senior leader of the opposition Ghulam Nabi Azad to repeal the three farm laws, expressing that the opposition stands united during the debate on the 3 contentious farm laws that has set off a massive protest by farmers’ in various borders of Delhi. Mr Azad said “The British too once withdrew a farm law ruling its rule.”In the Parliament in a near15 hour slot the farmers protest will be discussed, the government agreed for it in a breakthrough in talks with the opposition. Rajya Sabha in the Parliament is conducting this discussion and the Question Hour has been suspended for two days.

Mr Azad during the discussion asked PM Modi to set-up a committee to look for “Those who have been missing since January 26” and added further that “There should be strict actions against the culprits” while he was condemning the unprecedented violence in the capital on January 26 the Republic day after the farmers’ tractor rally turned rogue.

A 5-hour standalone discussion was demanded by 16 opposition parties to which the government agreed to increase to 15 hour discussion. In the Parliament last year the opposition parties had tried to block the farm bills and had also requested President Ram Nath Kovind not to sign on the bills as they said that in the Rajya Sabha the bills were passed in an undemocratic manner. However, Presiden Kovind had given his assent in all the 3 bills
