Business man shot dead over monetary dispute in Delhi’s Mahipalpur

52-year-old businessman shot by a man he leased out his hotel to over 10 months ago, the man and his associates are the prime suspects says the police


Krishan Pal Sehrawat, 52-year-old businessman was shot dead by a man he had leased out his hotel to over a monetary dispute in southeast Delhi’s Mahipalpur area. The victim was a resident of Haryana’s Gurugram and sustained a gunshot injury near his left temple said the police. Apparently the two parties have known each other for a while.

The police said that the deceased had leased out his hotel in Mahipalpur to Rohan Mishra around 10 months ago. The deceased was having disputes with Mishra over non-payment of lease amount and pending electricity bills. Mishra was supposed to pay Rs five lakh but he did not clear any of it. Krishan Pal Sehrawat met Rohan Mishra and his associates at the hotel on Sunday night and they consumed alcohol together. One of the CCTV footages accessed by the investigating team shows Sehrawat walking with Mishra and his associates outside the hotel.

The officer revealed “As they reached near a parking space, both Sehrawat and Mishra got into a heated argument and they allegedly shot the victim on the left side of his head’s temple area and fled from the spot.” Deputy commissioner of the police (southwest) Gaurav Sharma said that Mishra and his associates are the prime suspects of the case. And efforts are being made to trace them.

The Vasant Kunj North Police Station received a call from his brother about Sehrawat being shot around 11pm on Sunday. He was then taken to the Spinal Injury Centre but was declared dead by the doctors. More CCTV footages are being scanned for more evidence and investigation is still underway.
