Cases of monsoon-related illnesses increase in UP's Kanpur

Seeing rising numbers the hospital has specially allocated ward number 10 for dengue patients.


In the recent past week, respiratory virus cases in Kanpur have increased because of the ongoing monsoon season. A doctor, Dr. Vishal Kumar Gupta from Lala Lajpat Rai Hospital said most of the people have been suffering from flu and continued their treatment from home. An increasing number of high fever, cough, sore throat, cold, etc have been seen, he adds.

Subsequently, after processing some cases, the reason has been flu and in others dengue and malaria. 19% cases have been found, in which people's health is normal and can continue treatment from home with medicines. Beds are already ready for advancement in different wards for dengue, adds Dr. Vishal Kumar Gupta.

Anju, a viral patient, said she has had a fever, cough and pain in her legs for 8-10 days. She completed the registration process and was waiting for her turn.

Most of the cases of dengue, malaria, and chikungunya have been seen in the monsoon season, said Dr. Shailesh. Most of the patients belong from the rural areas of Bundelkhand where all are suffering from fever. Seeing rising numbers the hospital has specially allocated ward number 10 for dengue patients.
