Chardham Yatra to start from Saturday, September 18

Only 800 devotees will be permitted to visit Kedarnath Dham, 1,200 to visit Badrinath Dham, 600 will be allowed to visit Gangotri and 400 to visit Yamunotri Dham in a day.

Earlier, due to spike in Covid-19 cases, the Char Dham yatra had been suspended by the Uttarakhand Government. Covid-19 led to the closure of many  spiritual places and public gatherings as the cases were out of control during the peak.

The Nainital High Court on Thursday lifted the ban on Chardham Yatra and permitted only fully vaccinated people with a mandatory Covid-19 negative report. The court ordered devotees to follow strict Covid-19 protocols. According to the order only 800 devotees will be permitted to visit Kedarnath Dham, 1,200 to visit Badrinath Dham, 600 will be allowed to visit Gangotri and 400 to visit Yamunotri Dham in a day.

Meanwhile, the cases are declining and the states are reopening visiting places, religious places, and public places to return to normal schedules. Many other states such as Jharkhand, Assam, Haryana reopened schools and educational institutions, as well as some states, also reopened their public places as per the standard operating procedure (SOP) guideline.
