Chhath puja celebrations are permitted in Delhi at designated spots only. This decision came on Wednesday after holding a meeting. 

Deputy Chief Minister, Manish Sisodia made this announcement during a press conference of the Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA).


Manoj Tiwari, BJP (MP) shared pictures of the launch and sought blessings for all from "chhatri Maiya" tweeted in Bhojpuri. 

As per the previous order, the chhath festival was banned due to increasing Covid-19 cases and a rise in public rush. Whereas Manoj Tiwari urged the Delhi Government to allow the devotees to worship as many purvanchali communities reside in the National capital. Also, the Delhi Chief Minister, Arvind Kejriwal had written a letter requesting the Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal to permit chhath celebration in the city. 

Chhath is among the major festivals of Bihar, Jharkhand and nearby states. This festival is offered to Lord sun and it is a 3 to 4 day festival celebrated by offering fast and worship.


Meanwhile, with rising cases, Union Minister Hardeep Singh puri has also launched a special campaign for those devotees going to observe chhath fast post-Diwali at Ibrahimpur village in Northeast Delhi burari area. Not only this,Today Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya also announced the mega vaccination campaign, "Har Ghar Vaccine" to inoculate the population left with vaccination doses and achieve the inoculation target.
