Chhattisgarh BJP Leader Killed

Over 150 armed Maoists arrived in the village and attacked the leader...


On 5 February 2023, the Chhattisgarh BJP leader was dragged from his house in a village and brutally beaten and killed by the Maoists.

As per the information received by the police officials, nearly 150 armed Maoists arrived at the village but only 3 reached to the BJP Leader from Bijapur, Neelkanth Kakkem.

Following the incident, the assistant superintendent of police Chandrakant Gavarna informed that Neelkanth was a BJP madal president of Usoor Block for the last 15 years. He visited his ancestral village for a wedding function in paikaram. He further mentioned that the armed cadres attacked the leader with axes and other sharp weapons till he collapsed and died.

Lalita kakkem, wife of Neelkanth kakkem informed that three men forcefully took his husband outside the house and brutally hacked him in front of relatives and the villagers.

The investigation of the incident is underway.
