Chhattisgarh CM Baghel said drought-hit farmers in Chhattisgarh to get Rs 9,000 per acre aid

Under the Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Yojana (RGKNY), financial assistance of Rs 9,000 per acre will be provided to farmers.


Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel announced on Sunday that the drought-hit farmers in Chhattisgarh will get financial help of Rs 9,000 per acre if the crops are sown by the farmers and if the Kharif season gets destroyed due to drought-like conditions. The insufficient rain brings a rise in the drought-like conditions in most areas of Chattisgarh.

In the official statement, the government said “In the time of crisis period, the Chhattisgarh government stands up with the farmers". Farmers who have sown paddy, Kodo-kutki (millet), arhar pulse in the ongoing Kharif season, and if their crops get destroyed due to lack of rainfall they will get financial assistance of Rs 9,000 per acre under the Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Yojana (RGKNY).

Besides, in the remembrance of folk artists late Punaram Nishad and late Madan Kumar Nishad the government will publish their biography and directed the Chhattisgarh State Text Book Corporation chairman to take required steps in this regard.
