China And Pakistan Backing Farmers Protest: Union Minister

Union Minister alleges that farmers' protest is backed by China and Pakistan

Union Minister of State Ministry of Consumer Affairs Food and Public Distribution Raosaheb Danve passed a comment saying that the ongoing farmers' protest across the country was fuelled by India’s neighboring countries China and Pakistan.

The Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC) condemned the hinting of the Union Minister that the protesting farmers are “anti-national” or “anarchist” by protesting against the farm laws. This statement passed by him saw some raging reactions by the Delhi Sikh Body as they called his views "an insult".

Minister Danve was speaking at an event in Maharashtra’s Jalna district where he spoke about the protesting farmers on Wednesday. He said “The agitation that is going on is not that of farmers. China and Pakistan have a hind behind it. Muslims in this country were incited first. What was said (to them)? That NRC is coming, CAA is coming and Muslims will have to leave the country in six months. Did a single Muslim leave?” He further added that “This is the conspiracy of other countries.” The minister went further to say that such efforts have never seen success and this time the farmers are misguided by saying that they will face losses.

Recently, JP Dalal, the Agriculture Minister of Haryana had alleged that the farmers' protest is being powered by China and Pakistan.

The President of DSGMC, S Majinder Singh Sirsa on Wednesday said that such references to the peacefully protesting farmers are “shameful” and such allegations are repeatedly posted by the government ministers and spokespersons.
