China is planning to 'Ban Smartphones' for children

To curb that addiction by proposing extremely strict rules.....

Smartphone addiction is a serious problem these days among kids, tweens, and teens in all over the world. It can lead to serious health issues like sleep deprivation, poor academic performance, and social isolation.

China is planning to curb that addiction by proposing extremely strict rules.

China is planning for those under the age of 18 to limit the screen time hours a day. China is also planning different screen times for different age groups. Only 40 minutes screen time in a day for children under the age of eight on their phones, while children between 8 and 16 can use smartphones for not more than an hour.

Two hours of screen time in a day for children between 16 and 17.  Additionally, no smartphone should provide any kind of service to those under 18 between 10 pm and 6 am.

Too much screen time has been linked to a number of problems, including obesity, sleep problems, and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder.

Furthermore, the draft rules also suggest that smartphones come with a “minor mode”.

The minor mode will be for those under 18 years of age and must be easy to access on the home screen or system settings.
