The US has expressed concern over the recently released Coast Guard law by China. The US said that this could increase maritime disputes. The Philippines, Vietnam, Indonesia, Japan and other countries have also expressed concern about this.

The United States of America on Friday expressed concern about the recently released Coast Guard law by China. The US said that this could increase maritime disputes. Sputnik quoted State Department spokesman Ned Price as saying, "Like the Philippines (Philippines), Vietnam, Indonesia, Indonesia, Japan, and other countries regarding China's new Coast Guard law." America has also expressed concern. Last month, China's top legislative body, the National People's Congress Standing Committee, passed a Coast Guard law that seeks to strengthen coast defense so that foreign territories in China's territorial waters are not threatened by foreign boats. The sea is monitored under Coast Guard law.

The United States expressed concern over these new Chinese Coast Guard laws, saying that this would further aggravate regional and maritime disputes in the area and can be used to make illegal claims. It is noteworthy that China passed a law last month under which the Coast Guard can fire foreign ships for the first time. US State Department spokesman Ned Price said in a press conference, "The US stands with Philippine, Vietnam, Indonesia, Japan and other countries who have raised concerns about the recently implemented Coast Guard law by China." This may increase the already ongoing regional and maritime disputes in the area.

It is noteworthy that China is involved in border disputes in the South China Sea and East China Sea. China has militarized many islands and rocks to control the area. Both these areas are endowed with minerals, oil and other natural resources as well as one of the major routes of global trade. Ned Price said, "We are particularly concerned about the language of the law which talks about the use of potential force to enforce the Chinese claim in the ongoing territorial and maritime dispute in the South and East China Sea and in which the Chinese Coast Guard 'S armed forces.
