Chinese Yoga practitioners on International Day of Yoga


In China, the 7th International Day of Yoga was celebrated at Indian Embassy in Beijing with great enthusiasm . More than 500 people including many Chinese yoga enthusiasts and diplomats gathered at India House to participate in the event. India’s Yoga culture is a very good medium of communication between India and China as this time, at Indian Embassy in Beijing many Chinese yoga enthusiasts have gathered together to participate and make this day remarkable.

The first Indian yoga guru in China, Mohan Bhandari was in charge of yoga sessions in practicing advanced yoga demonstration; others Indian yoga gurus Hemanth Kumar, Sohan Singh, N K Singh, and Ashish Bahuguna also took part in the event. In a statement, India’s Ambassador Vikram Misri also says that as the event plays an important role in yoga, yoga practice is beneficial for the health of every person in the pandemic. Moreover, he talked about how globally effects have been made in the development of vaccine and so other not for covid for keeping in mind of other afflictions too, he marks a remark as yoga offers a “physical as well as a spiritual path to wellness”; as an important device yoga relief yourself from the stress he adds.

Ambassador Misri addressed Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre of the Embassy of India in the pledge to make a series of Yoga outreach events he also marks as in coming days the activities of yoga will play an important role in the task of a series of Yoga professionals for training. Mr. Misri also felicitated the yoga gurus and the winners out there, in which most of the winners were Chinese nationals.

Many Chinese yoga enthusiasts believe in the power of yoga and embrace Ayurveda as an essential product from the forest in the cultural exchanges between India and China.In Beijing, there are 15 yoga centers where 10000 students and in some of them 50000 students were included in which Many Chinese students have also started their yoga institutes.

Besides this, Prasar Bharati Correspondent in Beijing spoke to a few Chinese yoga gurus and students on yoga’s popularity in China and the International Day of Yoga. The theme for International Yoga Day 2021 is 'Yoga for wellness'. As, in the pandemic tough times   lots of mental health problems happened in which yoga plays an effective tool to provide  relief to many people.
