On Tuesday, The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) of West Zone started an initiative called 'Zero Waste Offices'.

Under this initiative, started by its West Zone authorities in collaboration with ITC-WOW, in lieu of dry waste offered by an office, it would provide stationery items.

As per the information, The officials are conducting a survey to identify the office premises from where the waste is going to secondary collection points and then to the landfill sites, adding to the garbage problem of the city.

For this, the civic body officials of West Zone have surveyed 31 offices, including Zonal DC Office, DM office, banks, home guard office, MCD house tax office, police stations and more.

The stationary will be provided by ITC WOW, in exchange for dry waste. Through this initiative, civic body officials will ensure that the waste is properly disposed of and not dumped at landfill sites.

This will not only help the office premises with disposing of the dry waste for proper processing but also provide a source of getting additional stationery for official use. A total of 38 colonies/societies and 67 MCD Schools were also contacted by ITC WOW for proper disposal of dry waste.
