Class 10 board exams cancelled and Class 12 exams postponed by CBSE

Finally, in view of the demand from all over the country, the Central Board Secondary Examination (CBSE) has cancelled board exams of class 10th and postponed board exams of class 12th for the time being given the status of Covid-19. This decision by the government was taken by a meeting called by Prime Minister Narendra Modi with Union Education Minister Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, Education Secretary and CBSE Board officials today, 14 April 2021.10th and 12th CBSE board examinations were postponed or cancelled by students, parents and teachers as well as Chief Ministers, several leaders and public representatives from across the country amid the ever-increasing cases of Covid-19 pandemic. In the meeting with Prime Minister Modi, the Education Minister informed that the CBSE Board 12th examinations, which were to be held from May 4 to June 14, have been postponed for the time being. The new date sheet for these exams will be released later. However, the status for conducting these exams will be assessed on June 1, 2021. Also, the candidates will be given at least 15 days’ time for preparation.

In the meeting held with the Prime Minister today, it has been decided to evaluate the students on the basis of internal assessment along with the cancellation of the CBSE Board's 10th examinations. However, the government has given the facility to these students that they will be given an opportunity to attend the 10th board exams at an appropriate time later.
