CM Says, State Government to Give Vaccination Drive Priority In The City

The National Capital government is fully prepared for COVID-19 vaccine in context to receiving, storing and providing vaccination


Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal today stated that state government is all set to began the vaccination drive  in India as soon as it gets the vaccine from the Centre, and registration is underway for people in three priority categories who will receive vaccine first. CM said at a virtual press briefing that "There are a total of 51 lakh priority category persons in Delhi, three lakh health workers, six lakh frontline workers, and 42 lakh of those aged above 50 and those below 50 but having co-morbidities,"

Kejriwal also stated that the method of using vaccine will be, particularly given two doses, and a total of 1.02 crore doses will be required in the first phase of vaccination in Delhi. Currently, there is storage capacity in bulk for 74 lakh doses, and it will be scaled up to 1.15 crore within a week.

He added each person in priority categories is being registered to receive the vaccine first. They will be informed through SMS and other way of communication whenever their turn for vaccination arrives, the chief minister stated. They have also been identified and trained for the vaccination drive like necessary staff, officials and health workers. The sites where vaccination will be carried out are also being readied during the Covid pandemic.

Kejriwal also added that a couple of days ago the pandemic situation due to Covid in Delhi has result improved significantly, but all eyes are set on the vaccine when will be available and people will get rid of the virus and cure from it. People should take precautions and prevent from disease but still waiting for vaccination drive.
