Colleges and universities to reopen in Maharashtra from October 20

The guidelines also mentioned that students attending college must be fully vaccinated with both doses of Covid-19.


Maharashtra witnessed a surge in Covid-19 cases during the second wave which had led to the closure of schools, colleges, universities, educational institutions and many more public gathering places.

Whereas the state is witnessing a downfall in Covid-19 cases and ahead of the festivals it is under the unlock process. As per the guidelines, schools and colleges in Maharashtra will reopen from October 20. The guidelines also mentioned that students attending college must be fully vaccinated with both doses of Covid-19.

\According to PTI, Samant said, "all the non-agricultural colleges, state run universities, deemed universities, self-financed universities and colleges affiliated to them can start holding physical classes from October 20. The teaching, as well as non-teaching staff, should be vaccinated on priority." Adding more he said, every university must follow standard operating procedures( SOPs).

Meanwhile, on Wednesday the Maharashtra state logged 2,219 new Covid-19 cases, tasking the overall tally to 65,83,896 with 49 fatalities and death toll to 1,39,670.
