Complaint filed against Mamata Banerjee for insulting National Anthem

Mumbai BJP files police complaint about West Bengal CM


 

On Wednesday, A leader from Mumbai BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) filed a complaint against West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee. This incident took place during her visit to the city.


 

According to the report by ANI, it said," showing utter disrespect to the national anthem "by allegedly singing it while in a sitting position and then "abruptly stopping after 4 or 5 verses."


 

As per the information, The West Bengal chief minister sang an incomplete National Anthem during the press conference which took place in Mumbai. The report also stated that she sat down on the mid way and didn't complete the National Anthem.


 

As per the tweet by West Bengal BJP unit it said, Mamata Banerjee was sitting down at first then stood up and stopped singing halfway the National Anthem of India. Today, As a chief Minister she insulted the culture of Bengal, the National anthem and the country, and Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore!"


Not on this, many other leaders and politicians questioned, Maharashtra BJP leader Pratik Karpe tweeted, "Isn't this demeaning National Anthem? What were the so-called intellectuals present doing when@Mamataofficial started the National Anthem in a sitting position. Not only that, she went ahead and abruptly stopped it in between."
