Concern over the fourth wave of COVID-19 in South Korea; nightclubs, karaoke bars to be closed

Prime Minister Chung Seo kyun declared sanctions for three weeks to come into effect from Monday, following a spike in new covid cases taking place daily at a three-month high. There will currently be a night curfew at 10 pm and a ban on the group of more than four people.


South Korea has issued orders to impose restrictions on nightclubs, karaoke bars and other nighttime recreational facilities, officials said on Friday. After the number of new coronavirus cases in the country has increased, a situation of worry has arisen regarding the fourth wave.

In recent days, Prime Minister Chung Seo-kyun declared sanctions for three weeks to come into effect from Monday, following a spike in new coronavirus cases taking place regularly at a three-month high. According to them, curfew, and a group of more than four people will be banned after10 pm.

Chung said that the signs of a fourth wave of epidemics, which were being discovered, are now approaching, and getting stronger. It was told that we will maintain the current distancing level but will actively strengthen various specific measures depending on the situation.

The Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency (KDCA) reported 671 new coronavirus cases on Thursday. It was said to be necessary to close the bars and gyms etc. for increasing cases.
