Congress forms war room team for 2023 Karnataka election

Ahead of the 2023 Karnataka elections, the congress party has formed a war room. As per the information The Congress party has formed a state-level war room team to coordinate in the run up to the party's campaign for the 2023 Assembly elections in Karnataka. 


As per the information, The All India Congress Committee (AICC) has approved some appointments in the Communications department of Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee.


The AICC has approved the appointment of Sasikanth Senthil as the Chairman of the war room of Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee for the upcoming poll. Sunil Kanugouli will remain the overall in charge and Suraj Hegde has been named as Vice President of the state Congress unit.


According to the information, Sasikanth is a former IAS officer of the Karnataka cadre. He quit IAS as Deputy Commissioner in Karnataka in September 2019 amid protests over the amendments to the citizenship law and spoke against the NDA govt after his resignation.


The next Karnataka Legislative Assembly election is scheduled to be held in or before May 2023 to elect all 224 members of the state’s Legislative Assembly. Earlier this month, a series of meetings between state Congress chief DK Shivakumar, Leader of Opposition Siddaramaiah and Rahul Gandhi.
