Congress Leader Rahul Gandhi To Visit Goa Ahead Of Goa Elections

He will hold a door-to-door campaign today!


Congress Leader and MP Rahul Gandhi will visit poll-bound state Goa today. He will arrive in Panaji today for a day-long visit to the poll-bound coastal state. He was earlier scheduled to visit on February 2, which was postponed to February 4 as he had parliamentary commitments.


According to the statement given by the Chairman of Goa Pradesh Congress Committee Media Department, Amarnath Panjikar said, he will interact with the representatives of the tourism sector, Anganwadi staff and others. He will also address meetings of work and will also guide candidates of congress.


As per the information, At around 10, Rahul Gandhi will hold a door-to-door campaign at Sada, Mormugao. The door-to-door campaign will be followed by a meeting with candidates at The International Centre, Dona Paula at 12:30 pm.

 

The information mentioned that He will then hold a meeting with shack owners, representatives of tourism, and representatives of the Confederation of Indian Industry at 2:15 pm at Dona Paula. Afterward, he will attend the “NIRDHAR” virtual rally at Sankhali Municipal Ground, Sankhali, Sanquelim at 4 pm. 


Meanwhile, 301 of the 578 candidates who filed nomination forms for the February 14 Goa Assembly elections remain in the fray.

According to a statement issued by Goa's Chief Electoral Officer, 332 candidates were cleared to run in the elections after the forms were scrutinised. It said a total of 301 candidates are in the fray for the general Assembly election for Goa out of 40 constituencies after 31 candidates withdrew their nominations on the last day of withdrawal.

 


The election for the 40-member Goa Legislative Assembly will be held in a single phase on February 14. The counting of votes will take place on March 10.
