On Saturday, September 16, 2023, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge said the first meeting of the reconstituted Congress Working Committee (CWC), will be held in Hyderabad.

Speaking to reporters in Delhi, Kharge said, "This is the first CWC meeting after I took charge as the party president.
An extended working committee meeting will also take place tomorrow where discussions related to the party will be done."
"Rahul Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi and all senior leaders will be present in the meeting and have discussions regarding the upcoming elections in five states and will plan after a joint discussion."
"Discussions on the alliance will be done in the next meeting with all the partners of the alliance," Kharge added.
