Country to Have world's largest museum, says PM Modi

He mentioned Yuge Yugeen Bharat...

On Wednesday, PM Narendra Modi, during his address at the convention hall inauguration at Pragati Maidan, mentioned Yuge Yugeen Bharat National Museum.

The proposal of the museum, announced by PM Modi, would be the world's largest museum, which will become India's rich and diverse history.

The name -- Yuge Yugeen Bharat -- derived from Sanskrit, means "everlasting India," which reflects the timeless scenario of the nation's heritage.

According to government sources, the museum will cover a massive area of almost 1.17 lakh square meters, housing approximately 950 rooms spread across a basement, ground floor, and two more floors.

The museum will be located within the North and South Blocks of the Rashtrapati Bhawan.

Their transformation into a museum signifies a shift towards celebrating India's cultural legacy on a wider picture.

These iconic Blocks, designed by Edwin Lutyens and Herbert Baker in the 1930s have long been the nerve center of India's governance, housing key ministries and the Prime Minister's Office (PMO).
