COVID-19:Delhi Government forms a committee to aid Migrant workers


After the announcement of six days lockdown in National Capital Delhi. A huge crowd of migrant workers were seen returning  back to their places in fear of Lockdown and Unemployment. Meanwhile, The Delhi High Court on Monday has directed the Government to provide basic amenities to ensure the welfare of daily wagers, migrant workers and construction worker. Whereas ,A seven-member committee has been formed of senior officers which ensure the welfare of daily wagers, migrant workers, labourers. This committee will be responsible to take all the necessary action, providing all the basics such as food, water and shelter.

The Delhi Government on Tuesday formed a committee and planned to give financial help of rupees 5,000 to each registered construction worker who was leaving the city. The maximum number of workers were from Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Jharkhand.

According to Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA),  the vision of the Delhi Government is to ensure the Welfare of daily wagers and migrant workers staying in the National capital and provide them with food, shelter, water, sanitation and medical facilities.
