Covid Under Control, No Need For Restrictions: Trader’s body Writes to DDMA

DDMA To Hold Meeting Today!

With the rise in Covid-19 cases and the prevailing situation in the National Capital. The Delhi Disaster management authority is likely to hold a review meeting today.

As per the information, the DDMA will be discussing all the Covid-19 cases and scenarios related to the deadly virus. The national capital has removed the fine on not wearing a face mask, but DDMA will be discussing all of it.

Ahead of Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) meeting on April 20, the Chamber of Trade and Industry (CTI) has written a letter urging the body not to impose restrictions stating that the Covid-19 situation is under control in the national capital.

"According to the statement given by CTI Chairman Brijesh Goyal said, if necessary, the DDMA should make it mandatory to wear a mask but the penalty should not be Rs 2,000," Goyal said while maintaining that restrictions should not be imposed.

Further, he and President Subhash Khandelwal said that according to many medical experts, the condition in Delhi is not too dangerous, as although the numbers are rising, the infection is not that serious since hospitalisation is still low.

Now the marriages have also started and somehow the business is getting back on track. If there is any restriction, the business will suffer. Decisions (regarding restrictions) should not be taken only based on case escalation and positivity rate, but the rate of hospitalisation and bed occupancy and effectiveness of the variant should also be considered," Goyal said.

"It is clear that the cases of coronavirus have increased, but they are not fatal or dangerous. The CTI urges that there should be no strictness on the markets and business activities right now. The DDMA should take a decision only after considering all these aspects," Goyal said.
