The 31 Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) companies which includes the 16 Rapid Action Force (RAF) stationed for Delhi-NCR has been extended for two more weeks in view of the farmers protest. The center had earlier extended the deployment period till February 4 to maintain law and order in Ghaziabad to four companies of the RAF.

Today the nails that were fixed near the barricades of the Ghazipur border and being removed and the members of the opposition party who reached the Ghazipur border to meet the protesting farmers were stopped by the police. Several borders from UP and Haryana which lie closer to Delhi like Singhu and Ghazipur have continued to remain closed for traffic movements due to the ongoing farmers protest against the 3 farm laws introduced by the central government.

On February 6 the protesting farmers have called for a 3 hour ‘chakka jam’ where they will be blocking all state and national highways of the country.
