Dead bodies of two kids dumped on Yamuna expressway

Several injuries were found on their faces and bodies and one of the bodies was found hanging upside down on a barbed wire

On Tuesday morning, two bodies of children were dumped on the Yamuna expressway within a 5-km distance, near milestones 74 and 79 in the Naujheel and Surir area in Mathura. Several injuries were found on their faces and bodies. One of the bodies was found hanging upside down on a barbed wire.

Between 8 am and 9 am a passerby spotted the bodies and immediately informed the police. Gaurav Grover, the senior superintendent of police said that the bodies have been sent for autopsy which will be conducted after 72 hours by a panel of doctors. Their DNA samples have been taken. Though the bodies are still unidentified, the boys were about eight and twelve years old said the police. Both the children were wearing jeans and had almost identical hair-cut.

He said the entire process of post-mortem will be video graphed. “Their photographs along with some details including identification marks on their bodies have been circulated on social media,” he said, further adding that the police of other states such as Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana and the National Capital Region have been informed too. The cops are also trying to figure out if the children were related.

The CCTV cameras at a toll plaza are also being scanned to get any evidence or trace of suspicious vehicles said Superintendent (rural) Shireesh Chand. He further added that four teams have been firmed to investigate the case. Similar such incidents have been reported in the past where bodies were dumped on the expressway.
