Former Jammu and Kashmir Member of Legislative Council (MLC) and National Conference leader Trilochan Singh Wazir's decomposed body was found in a west Delhi flat on Thursday morning. The 67-year-old Wazir had been missing since September 3 and his family had been trying to track him since then.

Mr Wazir's body has been sent for postmortem and a case of murder under Section 302 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) has been registered by the Delhi Police, reported HT. The neighbours informed the police of foul smell after which the police arrived to investigate the matter. The door was found locked from outside and a mobile was found lying next to the body that helped in its identification, reported NDTV.

Reportedly, Mr Wazir had to catch a flight to Canada on September 3 due to which he had arrived in Delhi on September 1. The police are investigating two men who had rented the flat. The reason behind Mr Wazir's presence in the apartment is not yet known.
