Delhi Again In Lockdown Till May 24


The National Capital Lockdown has been extended for another week till May 24, Chief Minister of Delhi, Arvind Kejriwal has stated that Covid cases though on decline they still stand below 5 per cent positivity rate. All the current restrictions will remain in place including the metro service which was shut last week.

Mr. Kejriwal stated that "We have been witnessing good recovery following the lockdown. Coronavirus cases have been on a decline,". He also added in his statement that "We don't want to lose the gain that we have made in the last few days. We are extending the lockdown for one more week. Instead of tomorrow, lockdown is extended till next Monday, 5 am in Delhi," told today.

As per the Health Ministry Data the positivity rate record which stood nearly 35 per cent in mid-April, has dropped to across 10 per cent, according to doctors, this will be go down below five per cent. On Saturday morning, Delhi had stood nearly 6,430 cases over a period of 24 hours the lowest since April 7. There were recorded of 337 fatalities in the same period, recovery seen over here but there is a need of more improvement. 

CM Arvind Kerjriwal said that "In the last 24 hours, Delhi saw 6,000 cases. Positivity rate has dropped to 10 per cent. Gradually, Delhi is coming back on track. I hope the recovery will be better next week. Restrictions will be the same as before,".
