Delhi airport authority seized 85 capsules of cocaine

One passenger was arrested for carrying cocaine


At the Indra Gandhi International Airport (IGI), customs officials seized 85 capsules of cocaine worth nearly Rs. 11.28 crores.

 

As per the tip-off based on special intelligence, a Brazilian passenger who departed from Sao Paulo airport in Brazil for Dubai arrived at terminal T-3 of IGI airport in New Delhi and was diverted to the green channel for the X-ray of their luggage by the customs officers on duty, who found that the luggage had some specific materials during the medical examination of the pax.

 

The oval shaped capsule later sent to medical procedure in which it was observed that the capsules contains 752 grams of white powdery substance suspect to be narcotics and after the diagnosis of the material that resulted as cocaine at prima facie.

 

A cse was registered under sections 21, 23 and 29 of NDPS Act of 1985 and under arrest on 14 March under section 43(b) for violating the provision of Section 8 of NDPS Act, 1985.
