Delhi borders sealed as Farmers' Protest surges

Delhi borders sealed due to Farmers' Protests

With National Capital being tangled in widespread protests by the farmers condemning the Farmers Bill, Delhi is no longer the victim of hazardous pollution and climbing covid cases only. The city has turned into an epicenter of unregulated and undaunted outrage of farmers upholding their demand to thrash the new bill. The city has been choked with stagnant traffic and blocked key entrances, grounding the commuters on the road just honking in desperation to reach their destination. With every advancing day the situation is slipping out of hands of the government as there is no sight of negotiations to occur. The city can't expect any relief from the long hours of traffic.

Farmers have been campaigning on the borders of Delhi leading to traffic snarls and inconvenience to commuters who are caught up in the conflict between farmers and government,  for the 8th day in a row. The Singhu border which connects Delhi and Haryana and has been a heated site of alteration and has been closed since Thursday. The Delhi traffic police also sealed the Haryana-Delhi border at Tikri in pursuit of halting the traffic amid protests.

As of now, Singhu, Lampur, Auchandi, Safiabad, Piao Maniyari, and Saboli borders are non functional, disrupting the whole balance in the city. The disgruntled farmers also took over Uttar Pradesh-Delhi border at Ghazipur which has been choked for the third day. This route is the key connection for the state to capital. People are advised to avoid NH 24 if planning to travel.

Delhi Traffic Police issued advisories and alerts on current traffic situation to alarm people of the closed routes and normalise the functioning and transportation. Avoiding NH 24, people are advised to use Apsara/Bhopra/DND if coming to Delhi. The Chilla Border on Noida link road has also been closed for any traffic movements due to sing tension at Gautam Budh Dwar. Citizens are suggested to use DND rather than Noida link road. NH 44 has also been closed on both sides. Alternative routes are encouraged for commutation.

The closure of significant borders has ambushed the people with never ending difficulties to cope with. Diversion strategies have been forced at Mubarka and GTK road. The borders open to  Haryana include Dhansa, Daurala, Kapashera, Rajokri NH 8, Bijwasan/Bajghera, Palam Vihar, and Dundahera. These protests could force the city into a turmoil if not worked out timely and effectively.
