Delhi Caps RT-PCR Prices At Private Hospitals

Labs to charge Rs 300!

On Thursday, the Delhi government called the prices for the Covid-19 RT-PCR test in Private Hospitals and labs at Rs 300.

According to the order, there's a reduction of 40 percent from the previous rate. Earlier the prices for Covid RT -PCR test would cost rupees 500.

The antigen test (RAT) at private facilities would cost rupees 300 which has now been reduced and will cost rupees 100. The home collection of samples and testing would cost rupees 500. Earlier it was 700 rupees.

According to the statement given by health minister Satyendar Jain, he tweeted" The rates for conventional RT -PCR and RAT test for COVID in Delhi by private labs has been reduced. The price for the RT -PCR test has been set to rupees 300 and the price for home collection of samples has been set to Rupees 50.  Price for antigen test has been set to Rs 100."

As per the information, the Health Department has directed all private hospitals and laboratories to display revised rates at a prominent place within 24 hours. It has also asked private facilities to process samples within 12 hours of being received in labs.

The department said for all positive samples, results should be updated in the ICMR portal within 30 minutes of the samples being processed.

According to the data, Delhi reported a total of 17,60,272 cases of COVID. Taking the death toll to 25,503 in the city. On Friday the cases declined to 24,383, the positivity rate stood at 30.6 percent. On Wednesday, 35 deaths took place due to Covid.
