Delhi Cars without HSRP would be fined 5,500-10,000

HSRP to be made compulsory in Capital

Cars owners were asked to have a HSRP in October, now after amended MV law there is a hefty fine if you didn’t get the color coded sticker plates (HSRP) and coded fuel stickers on vehicles. Failure to install will result in a large fine. Non Compliance could lead to a fine of Rs 10,000 if it turns out to be a compoundable offence than also fine of Rs 5,500 is fixed according to the amended MV law.

In October, the department issued a public notice that residents of the national capital have to  get HSRPs and colored stickers affixed to their vehicles "without delay" and said those car owners found outside of these would face prosecution under the car act (MV).However, vehicles that have already applied for the HSRP and colored stickers will not be penalized if they produce the requested slip. Currently, vehicles registered with other provinces are also not included in this list.

According to officials from the Department of Transport, there are at least 40 lakh vehicles, both vehicles, and two wheelers, obscured from HSRP. HSRP is a chromium-based hologram. This hologram is a sticker with a car engine and a VIN, also known as a chassis number on it. This number is labelled with a paint press and there is no sticker. There will be a pin type thing on the plate that will  be attached to your car. If this pin holds the plate in your car, it will lock both sides, and couldn’t be opened by anyone.

The biggest advantage of a highly secure number is that along with crime, car thefts can also be controlled

A sticker with colored codes is used for the type of fuel. That is, if your car uses gasoline or diesel, color coding is done on this basis. Includes a light blue sticker for petrol and CNG. Diesel using an orange color sticker. According to officials, the registration number, registration authority, laser sign PIN, engine and car chassis number will be on these coded stickers. The Department of Transport has compelled you to obtain HSRPs and colored stickers on vehicles on the orders of the high court.
