Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal announces grand Chhath celebrations at 1100 sites

Delhi is set to witness a state-wide festive fervor!

Upcoming festivals like Diwali and Later Chhath puja will be celebrated after a great time span. The Covid-19 has hit the country hard after which the things are returning back to actual position.

Delhi chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal announced that the government would prepare for a grand Chhath celebration across 1100 sites in Delhi. After a wait of two long years.

According to the statement, the Delhi CM said; Before we came to power, Chhath was a formality for the government. In 2014, there were barely 69 sites where Chhath was celebrated here in Delhi.

The government back then spent a mere 2.5 crores on it. But now, we will celebrate Chhath on a very large scale across 1,100 sites in Delhi,” Arvind Kejriwal said.

Adding more; Among our core responsibilities, we have prioritised the safety and security of every citizen. To make this possible, we will seek the help of the Delhi Police and install CCTVs all around our Chhath Ghats,” Delhi CM highlighted.

The Delhi government plans to make arrangements for drinking water, sanitation, toilets, ambulances, first-aid, tents, furniture, sound systems, lighting, and LED screens for the festival.

After two years of celebration, festivals are going to take place in a grand way. The capital city was the epicenter for coronavirus which didn’t allow any sort of public gathering during that period.
