Delhi & Delhi-NCR experience the highest rainfall in the last 24 hours.

Delhi and Delhi NCR are suffering from severe waterlogging due to the experience of heavy rain for several hours. Heavy rain has caused slow movements of the vehicles on road, resulting in severe traffic jams.


A private agency of weather-forecasting Skymet Weather has reported that Safdarjung in Delhi recorded the highest rain in a decade in 24 hours in October. In Safdarjung, the rain was recorded up to 85 mm and in Palam, it was nearly 55 mm until 5:45 AM today. According to the reports, one of the highest rain was 175 mm on October 1, 1954. As per the statement of IMD (India Meteorological Department), they declared that the adjacent cities and places near the capital Delhi will experience light rain throughout the day. Mainly, in Noida, Ghaziabad, Greater Noida, Baraut, Agra, Mathura, Hathras, Sonipat, Gannaur, Gohana, Sohana, Jhunjunu, Pilani will have rain throughout the day.

The excessive amount of rain has caused problems within the roads and the public. Heavy showers have blocked many roads and results in waterlogging in many parts of the capital. The capital has experienced severe traffic jams and slow movement of the vehicles within the roads.

The Delhi Traffic Police tweeted, "Traffic advisory Due to waterlogging at Pulprahladpur underpass MB road is closed. Road users may take alternate routes going towards Mehrauli Mathura road underpass Sarita vihar flyover Or Modi mill flyover and vice versa towards Badarpur." The Delhi Traffic Police in the advisory suggested alternative routes for commuters' convenience.
