Delhi Encounter: Police Shoot Portugal Gangster's Alleged Gunmen

Two Suspects Injured ...

Delhi Police's Special Cell shot at two alleged shooters linked to a gangster from Portugal, Himanshu Bhau, in a showdown in southwest Delhi on Thursday.

Rahul and Aman, who got shot in the legs, are suspected to be involved in multiple crimes such as murders, extortion, robberies, and attempted murders across Delhi, Haryana, and other states, according to the police. Jasbir, their associate, has also been arrested. The operation was conducted by a team led by ACP Sanjay Dutt.

Special Commissioner HGS Dhaliwal mentioned that there was a combined reward of Rs 3.5 lakh on Rahul and Aman. The gang's leader, Bhau, managed to escape to Portugal using a fake passport and has been orchestrating operations in collaboration with gangsters Neeraj and the Bambiha syndicate.

The Additional Commissioner of Police (Special Cell), Pramod Singh Kushwah, stated that the accused were implicated in a shooting incident where Hitesh was shot, and he later succumbed to his injuries.

The cousin, who filed the complaint, informed the police that he and Hitesh, along with another cousin Rohan, were at their office in Chanchal Park on February 27. Around 4:30 pm, three armed men entered the office and opened fire on them.

The investigation uncovered that the motive behind the shooting was extortion. Hitesh's father, who operates a cable business, had been receiving extortion calls.

Jailed gangster Naveen, also known as Bali, and his cousin Moris were arrested in connection with this case. The shooters were identified as Rahul, alias Hulli, Aman, and Jasbir, alias Jassa.

The police received intel that the accused would meet their associates in Chhawla. A trap was set, and the team identified three suspects on a bike. Despite being signaled to stop, they attempted a U-turn, causing their bike to slip, as described by a police officer.

Upon being instructed to surrender, the suspects instead drew pistols and initiated gunfire. In self-defence, the police team returned fire, resulting in two suspects sustaining bullet injuries. The three suspects were eventually subdued, and it's noted that one of the bullets hit the bulletproof jackets worn by two police officers.
