Delhi Government declares 14 private Hospitals as "Covid-19 care centre"

14 private Hospitals declared as" Covid care centre"


In view of the surge in Covid-19 cases in the capital, the Health Department of Delhi on Monday has declared 14 big private hospitals as "Covid-19 care centres". This decision was taken when Delhi's Chief Minister, Arvind Kejriwal held an emergency meeting in view of rise in Covid-19 cases .The Delhi government has also directed all these Hospitals and declared them as Covid hospitals and will not admit any non - Covid patients till any  further notice.

Those Hospitals which are declared as fully Covid  care centre are Indraprastha Apollo Hospital, Sir Ganga Ram hospital, Holy family hospital, Maharaja Agrasen Hospital (Punjabi Bagh), Max Hospital (Shalimar Bagh), Fortis Hospital (Shalimar  Bagh), Venkateshwar Hospital, Sri Balaji Action Medical Institute, Jaipur Golden Hospital, Mata Chanan Devi hospital, Pushpawati Singhania research institute, Manipal hospital and Saroj super speciality hospital. 

According  to the Directorate General of Health Services(DGHS), it said that the AAP government  has  also asked 19 more private hospitals  to reserve  at least 80 per cent of their ICU beds for Covid-19 patients .

Health Minister Satyendra Jain said that "We added 5,000 more beds last week and will add more. At present, there are 5,525 beds in Delhi .190 beds are occupied which amounts to 2% .we have also requested the central government to increase beds to their current tally of 190".
