Delhi Govt Announces Night Curfew

Night curfew from 11 pm to 5 am!!


The Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) recently started taking precautions such as the ban on social and cultural gatherings and the cap on bars and restaurants to operate with only 50 per cent seating capacity till midnight of December 31.

 

The DDMA order said, the current all permitted and restricted activities will continue on the intervening night of December 31 and January 1. Political, social, cultural, religious, and such similar gatherings have not been permitted.

 

Meanwhile, the National Capital reported 290 fresh Covid-19 cases on Sunday, and one death, according to a health Department. On Saturday, Delhi reported 249 new cases of covid-19.

 

With this, the total number reached 14, 43,352 while the death cases reached 25,105. The number of active cases stands at 1,103, of which 583 patients are in home isolation.

 

The announcement comes after the number of Omicron cases in the country started increasing.

 

While Speaking to ANI, Dr. Suresh Kumar, MD-LNJP, Delhi said, “Covid-19 cases have been increasing since last week, including Omicron cases too. So, implementing a night curfew in Delhi is commendable, as people party till late for New Year celebration. Covid-19 transmission might increase if we don’t follow the SoPs.”
