Delhi HC to hear plea against ban on firecrackers

On Wednesday, the Delhi High Court will hear the petition challenging the ban of firecrackers in the capital city. The court will hear the petition seeking a modification in the decision to impose a complete ban on the storage, burning and sale of firecrackers.

The petition said it is not appropriate to ban firecrackers in an arbitrary manner one and a half months before the Diwali festival.

As per the report, it said, "bursting crackers is not the biggest cause of air pollution in Delhi NCR." Meanwhile, the Delhi Government has also implemented several plans and programmes to stop the spread of pollution in the national capital.
