Delhi IGI Airport Turns Into Natatorium

The IMD issued an 'orange alert' in the city due to torrential rain on Saturday from 7 am to 10 am and 11.30 am to 2.30 pm.


Indira Gandhi International Airport in the national capital on Saturday witnessed waterlogging at the forecourt and in some other areas due to heavy rainfall.

According to the administration, the water has now been drained out and all areas are clear. However, the situation became difficult for the passengers and the crew to move around the airport as there was water everywhere.

The Delhi Airport tweeted, "Due to sudden heavy rain, for a short period, there was water logging at the forecourt. Our team was immediately aligned to look into it and the issue has been resolved."

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) issued an 'orange alert' in the city due to torrential rain on Saturday from 7 am to 10 am and 11.30 am to 2.30 pm. Also several parts of Delhi witnessed water logging and commuters got stuck in the traffic during the heavy rain.
