Delhi logs 314 new Dengue cases in 7 days...

Tally crosses 1,500-mark!


The cases of the vicious dengue have been spreading rapidly in the capital city. 

The count tally has been rising incessantly and around 314 new cases of dengue is reported in the last week. This count has touched the tally to 1500 mark. 


Dengue cases have been on the rise in Delhi with more than 300 cases being logged in the last seven days. Delhi recorded 314 cases in a week, taking the caseload to 1,572, the highest number of cases since 2018.


It is the highest number of dengue cases reported during the January 1-October 12 period since 2018, when the corresponding figure was 2,884.


As per the latest report released by the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD), nearly 194 patients are undergoing treatment at the hospital.


With this, the number of patients rose to 758 in Delhi.


Delhi registered 937 cases of dengue this year till September-end, and 635 fresh cases were reported in the first 12 days of October.


Meanwhile, 29 cases of malaria were logged in the last seven days, taking the tally to 182. However, no new cases of Chikungunya have been reported in the last few days.


In the first five days of October, the city had logged as many as 321 dengue cases following the heavy rainfall that lashed the city for a few days. The report said that the remaining 314 fresh dengue cases were logged in a week between October 5 and 12.

 

The city had recorded 693 cases in all of September.
